Why Gas Mileage Comparisons Matter
By admin | August 17, 2008
If you are in the market for a new vehicle, you may think that a difference of a few miles per gallon in fuel efficiency is a negligible one. However, that is not always true, especially with today’s gas prices. Gas mileage comparisons are important because a few miles per gallon can make a huge difference over time. If you drive 12,000 miles per year at gas prices of $4 per gallon, you will save $206 if your car gets 28 miles per gallon rather than 25 miles per gallon. For vehicles like trucks or sport utility vehicles that get worse gas mileage, the savings are even greater for a three mile per gallon difference, since you must purchase more gallons of gas.
