An Elementary School Fundraising I Will Always Remember

By admin | October 16, 2009

The elementary school fundraising this year at my son’s school was something that I will keep on remembering for the years to come.  The elementary school fundraising was a kite contest held at the school’s soccer field.  When my son heard about this, he was very excited.

Aside from the prizes donated by local business establishments, my son wanted to fly his own kite that he himself designed.  This will be his first time to really join in their elementary school fundraising.  I realized that this could be a venue for him to learn some important lessons.

Seeing his enthusiasm, I supported him and bought the materials that he needed for his kite.  I watched him make his kite from scratch and helped him with some tasks that involve using sharp and pointed objects.  Also, I encouraged him to save some part of his allowance for the entry fee for the contest.

As I watched my son fly his kite, I was amazed, to realize for the first time, that my baby has grown into a smart and responsible boy.  And this makes this elementary school fundraising very memorable for me.
