Anybody know how to make money using blogs?

I really need to find a way to make money using blogs as blogging seems to be the only talent God gave me. I dream one day of being a professional writer but I am not exactly an honor roll student and doubt that a degree in Creative Writing is in my future. The concept of work from home also has a lot of appeal to me and I think the idea of making money off a blog is the perfect work at home job. Does anyone know how some of the big name bloggers make money off their blogs? This is assuming they do of course.
