Getting a cheaper home

We really would love to have a second home in Florida so that we can go there for the winter. I really hate the cold weather, but my husband really loves living in New England. It would be great if when we retire next year we could start spending part of each year in each location. We were thinking maybe if we could find out about foreclosures in Florida we might be able to get a good deal on a house. The only worry is that maybe there wouldn’t be any houses in the areas where we would want to live.
