Running the Circuit in Vaudville

By admin | November 30, 2008

Helen Keller led a full life, despite being both blind and deaf.  During the later part of Helen’s life, she was forced to take to the Vaudeville stage magic shop due to her financial burdens.  Here she and her teacher, Annie, were to perform two shows daily that consisted of a twenty three minute skit depicting Helen’s life followed by a question and answer session facilitated through Annie’s interpretation.  They were the highest paid show on the circuit making $2,000 a week and working far less then when they were touring and giving much longer lectures.
