Where do I go to file a claim?

I have not had a an accident yet and hope that I never do. In reading through the blogs, I did have a question though. I purchased my auto insurance on line so have no store front to go to in case of an accident. Now, if I do have one where do I go to file a claim for the damages. Do I go back to the on line site and tell them what happened. I have gone back to look at it and the site is devoted to selling insurance and not to settling claims on accidents. I know there must be a way, I am just not sure what it is.
