By admin | August 28, 2008

One of the Places to go in Bulgaria that’s worthy seeing is The Aidemir monastery. It was built in 1996.Apart from paintings of well-known saints, the portraits of 12 Durostorum saints (i.e. from the former town of Durostorum, present-day Silistra) out of 23 local canonized saints, as well as the relics of one of these, St. Tezii, can be seen in the church of the Aidemir monastery. These paintings make “Holy Mother’s Shroud” a unique church for the territory of Bulgaria. The monastery is reached down an asphalt off-road that starts from the main roadway connecting the towns of Silistra and Rousse. The distance between the monastery and the main road is about 1km., while the asphalt road is of very good quality.
