My girlfriend and I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida right after Christmas. I was offered a job that I just couldn’t pass up, but I wouldn’t have taken it if my girlfriend wouldn’t have come with me. It took me awhile to convince her to leave her family and friends, but she finally agreed. I am glad that she didn’t think about the hurricane danger before we got here, otherwise I doubt if we would have moved. Now that she is aware of the dangers she has been spending a great deal of time checking out hurricane forums in order to learn how to be prepared.
