Choosing Between AMD Athlon Processors and Intel Dual Core Processors

I just recently bought a laptop and I was seriously considering if I was going to buy laptop that has an intel dual processor or the ones where it have AMD Athlon Processors. The thing is, the two laptops that almost has the same specs but different processors. I was surprised when the seller told me that the laptop that has the AMD Athlon Processor is more expensive than the one that has intel dual processor in it. So I bought intel because it is cheaper and way reliable. As I heard that AMD heats faster than Intel.
