Xbox requires this kit to enable DVD movie playback. Simply plug in the infrared receiver to a controller port and use the remote control designed for DVD movie playback. Xbox now competes against a massive library ambitious enough to accommodate a game based on Dante’s "Inferno" and wide enough to slip in a game that lets you solicit sex acts from streetwalkers. Xbox-2 will be using ATI graphic chips instead of the NVidia technology used in Xbox. As for memory, Xbox-2 is scheduled to have 256 MB– which may double, depends on the spec of its upcoming market opponent PS2. Xbox mods are not endorsed or supported by Microsoft—in fact, they void your warranty—so you do risk bricking your box and winding up the creek without a paddle. That said, I’ve just softmodded my Xbox using these very instructions so I can vouch for ‘em.
